Joseph worked as a judges' associate and practised as a solicitor before being called to the bar in Melbourne. He practised for ten years before being called in England.

Practice

Joseph's practice is predominantly litigation. It covers a broad range in the Chancery and commercial fields.

Joseph Carney practised at the Melbourne bar between 1994 and 2004, where he specialised in the construction of commercial contracts, shareholder disputes, share valuations, directors' duties, professional negligence (solicitors and actuaries), commercial fraud, insurance, trusts and the use of equitable remedies in a commercial context.

Joseph has already established a busy commercial practice in England, even though he only joined chambers this year.
